Studied fine arts at the Instituto de Diseño Monseñor de Talavera and at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Artes Plasticas Armando Reveron in Caracas, Venezuela. He is an emerging artist staying true to the figurative tradition in Latin America, painting animals and other figures that he has kept since his childhood.
Starsky Brines has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Caracas, Valencia, Maturin and several other Venezuelan cities, as well as in Miami, USA. He has been awarded “Gran Premio Juan Lovera, 2004” and 2nd Prize at the “VIII Salon Cantv Jovenes con Fia, Miradas Abiertas, 2006”.
The way in which he develops his work is particular in the sense that he combines apparently very simple images of animals and human-animals while at the same time making use of strong and attractive contrasts of colors; often developed using industrial paints.
